CCMH Provides more than $1.1 Million in Community Benefits
Crawford County Memorial Hospital provides $1,167,682 in community benefits to Denison and the surrounding area according to a recently completed assessment of those programs and services. That amount, based on 2010 figures, includes $1,134,959 in uncompensated health care and $32,723 in free or discounted services that CCMH specifically implemented to help regional residents.
Community benefits are activities designed to improve the health status and increase access to health care. Along with uncompensated care (which includes both charity care and bad debt), community benefits include such services and programs as health screenings, support groups, counseling, immunizations and nutritional services.
