CCMH announces hire of new Chief Executive Officer
Crawford County Memorial Hospital has announced the hiring of a new Chief Executive Officer. Bill Bruce, MBA, FACHE, has accepted the Administrator position and will begin duties at CCMH on April 2. The job offer culminated an extensive four-month search process and was made after a unanimous 7-0 vote from the Board of Trustees at a special meeting held March 13.
"The board was extremely impressed with Bill's proven track record of success in a variety of healthcare settings," said Larry Struck, President of the CCMH Board of Trustees. "We believe his experience, leadership and vision will provide CCMH with an excellent foundation to continue its goal of not only providing high quality care, but exceptional service as well."
Bruce has more than 20 years of healthcare executive experience in both critical access and prospective payment system hospitals, and nearly 35 years of experience overall in healthcare leadership. An Iowa native, he started his career as a paramedic before progressively moving into key management positions at healthcare organizations in Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois.
Bruce will take over duties from CCMH's Interim CEO, Larry Schrage, who began working at the facility in December 2011.
