Erin Schechinger, DNP, has begun her practice at CCMH Medical Clinic – Main Campus in Denison. She is Board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners licensed by the Iowa Board of Nursing.
Schechinger received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP), Family Practice, from Creighton University in Omaha earlier this year. Previously, she had received her Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Northern Iowa, and her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Allen College in Waterloo where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.
With special interests including health promotion and chronic disease management, pediatrics and women’s health, Schechinger began her duties at the CCMH Medical Clinic – Main Campus on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Patients can call the CCMH Medical Clinic at (712) 265‐2700 to schedule appointments and can start calling any time. Office hours for Schechinger will be Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5 pm.
In addition to her clinical rotations and preceptorship, Schechinger also found time to participate in the Interprofessional Honors program providing care to patients at the Third Medical Hospital in Hebei Province, China. She was also a representative on a medical mission trip to Kolkota, India where she worked at medical houses established by Mother Theresa. Schechinger acted as team leader for an immunization clinic at Project Homeless Connect in Omaha earlier this year.
“I’m really looking forward to offering health care services to the people of Crawford County and surrounding areas,” Schechinger said. “As the delivery of services continues to change, I’m pleased to be able to offer the one‐on‐one, personal relationship that patients expect from their medical provider. I want to be a partner with my patients for their improved health.”
