CCMH Enhances Patient Care with Transition to Oracle/Cerner Electronic Health Record System

[Denison, Iowa] – Crawford County Memorial Hospital (CCMH) is excited to announce a significant milestone in its ongoing commitment to provide exceptional patient care. On Monday, June 24, CCMH will convert to the Oracle/Cerner electronic health record system, marking a pivotal moment in the hospitals technology improvements.

The integration of the Oracle/Cerner electronic health record system signifies a transformative step forward in delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care.

Erin Muck, President and CEO, says by unifying the health record systems across the clinic, ER and hospital, CCMH is enhancing continuity of care, improving patient safety, and fostering seamless communication between departments, clinics, and care teams.

“One of the key benefits of this transition is that patients will now have a single, comprehensive health record that consolidates all of their health information from care received across all departments within our hospital. This streamlined approach ensures that our patients receive the highest quality of care with greater efficiency and accuracy.”

Muck also notes there will be some noticeable changes for patients.

“To ensure your visit with us is as smooth as possible, please anticipate longer wait times at check-in as we transition to this new process. To streamline your experience, we recommend arriving 15 minutes early from your scheduled appointment time.  As our staff navigates the new system, we ask for our communities’ patience.”

Muck kindly recommends to patients to bring all necessary documents including their insurance cards and IDs. CCMH will also require updated consents to be signed, as well as acknowledgment of our Notice of Privacy Practices.

“At Crawford County Memorial Hospital, our priority has always been the well-being and satisfaction of our patients. The implementation of the Oracle/Cerner electronic health record system represents our continued commitment to excellence in healthcare delivery”, Muck remarked
