COPD, or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, is a relatively common condition that afflicts peopl with a history of smoking, or repeated respiratory diseases like pneumonia. Patrick Stevens, Director of Cardiopulmonary Rehab at CCMH, discusses a new program to help patients with COPD to engage in greater self care. In addition, the program helps keep patients our of the emergency department and reduces the need for repeat appointments with healthcare providers.
