A native of St. Louis, MO, Dr. Armbruster completed his undergraduate studies at St. Louis University before earning his medical degree at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha. He went on to complete his residency programs and fellowship in cardiology at the St. Louis University School of Medicine. Dr. Armbruster is licensed to practice medicine in Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri. He is employed with the Methodist Physicians Clinic in Council Bluffs.

Board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Armbruster has published several research papers in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, and the American Heart Journal. He has also presented his research results at medical conventions around the United States and Canada. Dr. Armbruster is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.
