Crawford County Memorial Hospital (CCMH) is proud to recognize Jennifer Finken and Kim Petersen for completing the Iowa Hospital Association (IHA) Leadership Development Program.

The program session began in November 2025 and continued through May 2026, bringing together healthcare professionals from hospitals across Iowa to learn, share experiences and develop the skills needed to be effective leaders in today’s healthcare environment.
Healthcare leadership involves more than managing daily responsibilities. It also means supporting staff, communicating effectively, improving quality and helping teams work together to provide the best possible care.
Throughout the program, Jennifer and Kim attended monthly, full-day sessions led by speakers and instructors with expertise in healthcare leadership and management. They attended most of their sessions at Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee and Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake. These gatherings allowed them to connect with peers from different hospitals and healthcare departments throughout Iowa.
The sessions provided opportunities to interact with other healthcare professionals and learn practical ways to apply new skills in their positions. Session topics included:
- Reflection of Leadership Style
- Legal Aspects of Management
- The Process of Health Care Improvement and Quality
- Middle Managers Make Hospital Miracles Happen
- Mastering Interpersonal Communication for Team Performance
- Financial Skills for Health Care Managers
- Secrets to Successful Teams
After completing the program, Jennifer and Kim joined approximately 90 other graduates for a graduation ceremony on October 7, 2026, during the Iowa Hospital Association’s 97th Annual Meeting in Des Moines.
CCMH is proud of Jennifer and Kim for taking this opportunity to grow professionally. Developing strong leaders helps support hospital staff, strengthen teamwork and contribute to the continued improvement of healthcare services for our community.
