Celebrating Positive Aging: Supporting Physical, Social and Mental Wellness

Aging well is about more than staying physically healthy. Social connection, mental wellness, a sense of purpose and opportunities to keep learning all play an important role in overall well-being as we age.

At CCMH, we offer several programs and community resources designed to help older adults stay active, connected and supported throughout every stage of life.

Support Your Physical Wellness

Supporting physical wellness as you age can include staying active, keeping up with preventive care and learning skills that help you feel more confident in everyday life.

CCMH offers reduced-cost CPR classes for community members, providing an accessible way to learn or refresh lifesaving skills.

Keep Learning and Stay Engaged

Learning doesn’t stop at any age. Staying curious and involved can provide a sense of purpose while helping you stay connected to your community.

Our free Lunch & Learn programs cover a variety of health and wellness topics and give community members the opportunity to learn directly from local professionals.

CCMH also hosts and participates in community events throughout the year, offering additional opportunities to learn, connect and get involved.

Make Social Connection a Priority

Maintaining relationships and spending time with others can have a meaningful impact on quality of life. Social connection can come from spending time with family and friends, attending community activities, joining a class or finding a new way to get involved.

For those looking to give back, volunteer opportunities at CCMH offer another way to stay connected while making a difference. Volunteering can provide a sense of purpose while creating opportunities to build relationships with patients, visitors, staff and other volunteers.

Take Care of Your Mental Wellness

Mental and emotional health are important at every age. Changes such as retirement, the loss of a loved one, health concerns or increased isolation can sometimes make older adulthood especially challenging.

Senior Life Solutions at CCMH is an outpatient program designed to support older adults experiencing depression, anxiety, grief and other emotional or behavioral health concerns. The program provides support and resources to help participants improve their quality of life.

Positive Aging Looks Different for Everyone

There is no single formula for aging well. For one person, it may mean attending a community event or Lunch & Learn. For another, it may mean volunteering, learning CPR, spending more time with friends and family or reaching out for additional mental health support.

What matters is continuing to find ways to care for your physical, social and mental well-being while staying connected to the people and activities that are meaningful to you.
